The short answer
Choose SaasAnt Transactions if you already have rows ready to import and want one tool for bulk importing, exporting, updating and deleting many kinds of QuickBooks Online transactions. Choose Studio Month-End if you have a studio sales export and need it turned into one balanced journal entry per month, with your categories and payment types mapped to accounts once.
They solve different halves of the job and are not exclusive. A file built here imports through QuickBooks Online's own importer.
Why people look for a SaasAnt Transactions alternative
A bulk importer moves rows into QuickBooks, but someone still has to decide how a studio's sales, discounts, refunds, tax, tips and gift cards become debits and credits that balance. That building step is the slow part of month-end, and it is what Studio Month-End does.
When SaasAnt Transactions is the better choice
- You import many transaction types. It bulk imports, exports, updates and deletes transactions, batch creates them, and handles receipts and bank statements [1]. We write journal-entry files only.
- You already build the entry. If your bookkeeper has a spreadsheet template that balances, an importer is all you need.
- You want automations. Its plans include automations through email, FTP/SFTP and Zapier, and backups [1].
- Bigger files and more users. Its Growth plan allows 3 users and 4,000 lines per file, and Scale allows 10 users and 5,000 [1].
When Studio Month-End is the better choice
- You start from a raw sales export. Map categories and payment types once per studio, and we build the balanced entry: debits to clearing per tender, credits to revenue, tax and tips payable, and gift cards on both sides. Its pricing article describes importing transactions. It does not describe building a studio summary entry [1].
- You want it to refuse an unbalanced entry. An entry that does not balance is not buildable here, and every month has a tie-out.
- Price for one studio. Studio is $19 a month, against $25 for its Growth plan [1].
- Your export stays in your browser. It is parsed locally and never uploaded.
