Choose FlexBooks if you want sales flowing into QuickBooks Online every night with transaction detail and card batch reconciliation, and the price per studio is fine. Choose Studio Month-End if you want a month-end summary entry from a file you export, with no connection to your books, a year of history for the price of one month, or one plan across up to 15 studios.
On the published prices, one studio is $65 a month on FlexBooks and $19 on Studio Month-End. A year of history is $500 on FlexBooks and one $19 month here.
Why people look for a FlexBooks alternative
The usual reasons are price and catch-up. FlexBooks lists $65 a month for one studio, $120 for two and $150 for three, with a quote above three [1]. Catching up past months is a one-time $50 per historical month, or $500 per year [1]. Studios that only need clean monthly numbers for their bookkeeper often do not need nightly detail.
When FlexBooks is the better choice
- You want it automatic. FlexBooks imports your data into QuickBooks Online each night [2], so nobody exports a report.
- You want transaction-level detail. Its page describes detailed entries that keep track of each individual transaction [2]. We write one summary entry per studio per month, by design.
